When you are in the end or the end city, an enderman will randomly attack you, even if you are like 30 to 50 blocks away they will just attack you. This can happen if multiple enderman are surrounding you also meaning that it is almost impossible to survive the fight even will good gear, the most I had attacking me were 7 I think.
