The screen is stuck on the dancing bars "connecting to realms" and does not ever connect. I can connect using my wifi at home but this issue crops up when I am using a VPN in order to connect to my dorm wifi or school wifi.

It is not an issue with the VPN however as it previously had worked for several months. I have also checked to confirm that Minecraft has been allowed through my firewall and VPN
