(This issue effects all versions, i couldn't put that in the Affected version/s tab due to that not being an option) When i open the minecraft launcher and press play the game opens then closes. This bug is very recent and seems to have started on its own. I was playing minecraft earlier that day when the issues came about. After doing a small amount of research for a solution i saw that a number of people are suffering from the same issue and i couldn't find a solution to this problem.
