I was trying to blow a hole in the desert at -2000, -2000, but when I detonated the TNT, once it had gone through the events where it flashes white, nothing happened. The TNT simply disappeared. When I unloaded the chunks by travelling to around -1700, -1700, and then returned, the TNT finally exploded as I got close to it.
