The effect radius of glow is much larger on my desktop version of Minecraft and produces a displeasing look to the eye when viewed from afar, since the glow effect scale around an entity is not effected at all by distance.

The effect radius of glow is somehow smaller on my laptop version of Minecraft. This is much more manageable and is preferable to the larger radius.

The radius of glow should be consistent, but it is not for some reason.

I have tried relocating the entire .minecraft folder from my laptop to my desktop, expecting that that might cause the game to display what was seen on the laptop, but instead the desktop still produces the enlarged glow effect.
