Hello, I want to start by saying that I am new to Minecraft. And I am not exactly great with computers. That being said, sorry if I missed anything. Finally, I tried to search for another thread about this but I could not seem to find one.

So, here is the issue. When I log into my friend's server I lag really badly. My FPS seems fine, but I run into the problem of trying to use things like crafting tables and chests. I activate them, then nothing happens. But if I stay in the same place for about a minute, then they will open. Then I can usually open them like normal. However if I leave that particular area and come back, then I experience the same problem.

I have tried other servers, and they seem to work fine. However, I don't think it is a server issue because everybody else runs fine on the server, and I don't have any lag at all on my girlfriend's PC. Which is also on the same connection.

So far, I have tried turning off my firewall, making sure it will allow Java through, and following the instructions at the link at the end of this post. Of course nothing has worked. It might also be helpful to mention that prior to 1.5.1 I was getting an error that I was unable to get around. However, there was a post that I found about it here: https://mojang.atlassian.net/browse/MC-10776 and this has been resolved.
