I'm assuming this has to do with the fact Minecraft on Linux has to run from a JDK environment rather than an executable like it does in Windows, but within the game I can't use the copy-paste clipboard. This means that things like copying large commands from online and pasting them are impossible, and that I can't copy-paste ยง into things such as books for formatting.
As a map creator, this is a huge disadvantage-- I dislike the use of plugins or mods highly (mainly because of the large amounts of file manipulation they take, especially on Linux), and mainly use command systems for

clickEvent signs and making colored books for intros to the map et cetera.
Is there any possible user-end fix, or is this simply due to the client's environment?
