See attached screenshots showing a comparison of the same setup in 1.12.2 and 1.13-pre8. Throwing an item into this stream at the same angle used to keep the item in the water and carry it along. Now it often moves across the water stream, almost without being moved in the stream direction before it comes out on the other side.
