I can not clone a map. Placing a map in the left middle and any amount of paper in the crafting table, as per the wiki, does not light up the output.
I can create a zoomed map by putting a map in the center surrounded by 8 papers.
The rest of the game works great. (1000 hours on the Wii U. I'm happy to have a world bigger than 864x864 
)
