Some blocks don't randomly rotate correctly. The current problems that still happen might be intentional.

Here is a list of cases where blocks don't rotate correctly:

      Likely intended:

      • Side of dirt, sand, red sand, and concrete powder don't rotate like the side of bedrock, stone, and netherrack
      • Coarse dirt, gravel, clay, and terracotta don't rotate at all (even though they are closely related to dirt/stone.
Top of podzol, mycelium, and grass path don't rotate like the top of grass

      Not likely intended:
Bottom of mycelium, podzol, farmland, and grass path don't rotate like the bottom of dirt and grass (even though they all contain the exact texture of dirt)
Infested stone doesn't rotate at all unlike normal stone (sort of ruining the camoflauge aspect when looking closely or using certain resource packs)

Also affects crying obsidian (BE does rotate them) and versios 1.16.4 and 20w48a

There's also many blocks that have random rotations in Bedrock Edition that don't on Java Edition, such as all terracotta, glowstone, obsidian and both states of sponge.

Many issues with this were fixed in 19w12a, but there is still some (likely intentional) problems with random rotation with some blocks.

TNT not randomly rotating is not included in this report because it caused MC-12959

The part about infested stone not rotating like normal stone relates to MC-133340 (because it is expected that both look exactly the same)
