Long-time player here, I got back into the game and noticed some changes for the survival inventory, especially with the crafting guide :

-The icon for the "item search" tab is a functioning compass. This makes it useless to craft a compass since the one in the inventory is already pointing to the world spawn.

-When loading a server, not all crafting recipes are loaded, in fact, only 6 of them are. This renders the crafting book useless because you have to search for the recipe online anyway. They don't unlock either even after crafting an item not listed. (I am running the server on my laptop, so it might have to do with performance)

-At this point, there is no crafting recipe that uses the same set of items and results in different outputs, meaning the manual crafting system is, as of now, completely obsolete.

-Finally, I wanted to point out that the crafting book should also take potion brewing recipes into account.
