Can't switch a stack of a block in hotbar with less of the same material

      If I have a stack of wood in my hotbar and want to switch it out with 53 wood it won't allow me to switch and grab the stack and replace it with the 53. I'm sorry if the wording is weird, I'm having trouble putting it into words.
