In 1.16.1, you cannot use farming materials/farming equipment. For instance, when you try to right click on sugar cane or on seeds (of any type), it will not let you grow them up. You can also not plant seeds. You can plant sugar cane, but when you try to right click on farmland with seeds, it does not activate. I am using the default right click control.
