if you attempt to push a block through the world border the piston goes right through it and after that the block is indestructible as if it was through the border, but can be destroyed by explosions as if being moved by a piston i created some videos of the issue but i cannot post them here for some reason i tested in 1.16.1 NOT 1.16.2 but apparently according to this site 1.16.1 does not exist so i had to write 1.16.2.
