Directly after it stops raining and you have your riptide trident ready, you teleport towards the nearest rideable entity and then teleport back when you hit left-shift. When you have been teleported, it says that you are riding on the rideable entity. From my short time of testing, the nearest possible riding entity can be entered from hundreds of blocks away.
