move item from hotbar to backpack.  then move item from backpack to hotbar.  maybe it is food.  try to eat the food but nothing happens.  game shows you are eating.  shut down the game and restart it.  item moveed from hotbar is still there.  move item again to backpack.  move food to hotbar.  try eating again and this time food works.
