Can't dig in creative world's adventure mode

Steps to Reproduce:
1.make creative world
2.enter "/gamemode adventure"
3.start digging

Observed Results:
When trying to dig in creative mode's adventure mode the animation/action stops after first swing and no items are broken
Digging works normally in a normal survival world

Expected Results:
Digging should break items when holding the click/dig button to dig/obtain items
