So just as the title says, I came across a weird bug today when I was attempting to help my friend set up Minecraft. He had just gotten it, but his sound wasn't working. Had him re-install the game several times. We noticed however that all his settings were still being saved even after full uninstalls.

The problem was that his profile name on Windows had a space in it. His name was Jay Peezy. So it installed the core files into Jay Peezy, but then once he ran the game, it made all the configuration files in a new folder Minecraft had created under users called Jay. Just Jay.

He made a new account called "Test" with no spaces this time and re-installed Minecraft there. Then all the files went into the right place and his sound worked in game. So the new launcher doesn't seem to like usernames with spaces in the profile.

This doesn't happen with 1.5.2 and the old launcher, as I gave him the old launcher and that one installed fine under his username Jay Peezy and his sound worked and all.

Just thought I should let you guys know...seemed like a rare bug not many people would find =P
