In Bedrock Edition, leaves will turn a shade of white during snowfall, as long as said leaves are in certain especially cold biomes. This is meant to represent "frosted" or "snowy" leaves. In Java Edition, this does not occur.

This fix would have value both for parity and for aesthetics.
