The darkness pulsing slider can be turned off in case the flashing screen makes some people's eyes too uncomfortable. However, the way it's implemented allows for people to turn it off to gain a gameplay advantage.

To elaborate, with the current implementation, turning darkness pulsing down to 50 means the pulsing will go from 0% intensity to 50% intensity compared to between 0 to 100, which makes it more comfortable but also makes it less dark, and hence giving a gameplay advantage. Turning the slider to 0 also completely mitigates the pulsing, giving players a major gameplay advantage.

I propose that the darkness pulsing slider, instead of directly determining how dark the screen gets when it pulses to it's maximum, to instead center around the 50% mark.

What I mean by this is that turning darkness pulsing down to 50 should make the game pulse the darkness from 25% intensity to 75% intensity, and turning it to 0 makes the game no longer pulse, but always stay at the brightness level of when it pulses to 50%. This no longer gives player a gameplay advantage without compromising it's accessibility benefits.
