Damage interaction between player shielding and another player riptiding has inconsistent behavior.

      1) When the player riptiding is falling, he deals critical damage to the player shielding (regardless of shielding player's orientation)

       - When critical damage is dealt, the shield is not disabled and the player takes damage  (compared to standard axe behavior, critting axe just damages and disables the shield, and does not damage the player on the first hit)

I would expect, that either the shield will be disabled and damaged and the player will not be damaged, or the shield will block the damage (and the block animation will play - which is currently completely missing)

      2) When the player riptiding is not falling, the hit is blocked regardless of the direction from which he is being attacked (even from behind) - the non critical damage should be blocked only from the front of the player

We have observed similar behavior on previous versions of vanilla MC as well (but we did not do a dedicated test as in 1.20.1).

Following are videos showing hits by sword, axe, riptide (critical hit), and riptide (non-critical from behind). Both attacker and victim POVs are included. Also from the attacker's POV you can hear the wrong hit sound (hurt sound instead of block) - MC-105068
