When spacing layers of glass behind each other with layers in between to produce an intended shading / fog effect, the effect is ruined every 16 blocks from subchunk boundaries.

      Steps to Reproduce:

      1. Place a layer of stained glass in a square the xy or zy plane with a size greater than 16x16 but no wider than 1 block. For example, a square of size 20 x 20 x 1 meters of white stained glass.
        2. Leaving a gap of air in between, place another layer of the same size with a different color stained glass (the same color has the same effect but is less noticable) such that the structure is 3 wide now. For example, light blue stained glass of size 20 x 20 x 1 meters
        3. Place a background of blocks so that layering results can be seen best.
