have 2 stacks of the same item in inventory (example, 64 lantern stack and another 42 stack lanterns). Now click the on the 42 stack, then on the 64 stack, to swap both stacks with eachother. Nothing happens anymore as of v1.21.1 (this used to work in v1.20 iirc). Only works the other way around.
