Jumping and gliding over and over with the elytra cancels out momentum. In previous versions clicking the jump button repeatedly would keep momentum from the elytra glides, this is no longer the case. At the beginning of each new jump all player momentum seems to be reset and feels clunky, making the elytra much less fun to run around with.
