Bug description:
Certain falling leaf particle textures share shapes despite coming from the same leaves types. For example, textures leaf_0, leaf_1, leaf_2, & leaf_3 are all variants of each other at different angles as expected, however textures leaf_4, leaf_5, leaf_6, & leaf_7 are identical aside from being darker by an extremely slight amount. The same goes for textures leaf_8, leaf_9, leaf_10, & leaf_11, they are only very slightly darker versions of leaf_0-leaf_3.
Despite this, all 3 groups of leaf textures (0-3 / 4-7 / 8-11) come from the same types of leaves, being oak/spruce/birch/jungle/acacia/dark oak/mangrove leaves, which doesn't make sense with the three groups being so similar. This is also inconsistent with cherry leaves and pale oak leaves, which use their own specific particle textures, rather than sharing textures with other leaves.
The first, second, and third groups all applying to most leaves types, despite being nearly identical, also prevents resource packs from customizing the leaf particles for each type of leaves individually, like what is possible for cherry/pale oak leaves.
Reproducing the bug:
This issue can be reproduced by attempting to change leaf particle textures (0-3, 4-7, or 8-11) and observing that each group affects the falling leaf particles for all leaves types except cherry/pale oak, rather than certain leaves using 0-3, others using 4-7, and the remaining using 8-11.
The attached test resource pack makes the first texture group (0-3) use a "1" texture, makes the second group (4-7) use a "2" texture, and makes the third group (8-11) use a "3" texture. Observe how all three groups spawn from the same type of leaves (for example oak) despite being nearly visually identical without the resource pack, rather than certain leaves using certain groups.
Behavior Expectation:
Observed Behavior: Oak/spruce/birch/jungle/acacia/dark oak/mangrove leaves share leaf particles, despite having 3 nearly identical texture groups, while cherry/pale oak leaves have dedicated leaf particle textures, causing an inconsistency.
Expected Behavior: Either types of leaves have dedicated leaf particle textures, or different leaves use the different texture groups rather than most leaves using all 3 groups at the same time.
