Here is what happened:

I was on a server, 1.7.2 (Hard mode), with some friends. i ran out of hunger and started taking damage. The server was restarted. When i rejoined, i had no longer and the same amount of hearts (as expected) but stopped and am still not getting damaged from my lack of food.
