I tried to make a long-range wireless redstone transmitter and receiver that operates because of the way hitboxes work. However, the boat necessary for it work, breaks after exactly 5 extensions of the piston. In 1.6.4, the boat did not break this easily. It seems as though the game is mistaking the boat falling onto the glass on top of the piston as it striking land, so it causes it to break.
