Wooden Pressure Plates when stepped on, the pressure plate acts like a lever??!!??

      when i step on a wooden pressure plate then stap off, it keeps the current even though im not stepping on it it acts like a lever. but when i step on a stone pressure plate it acts like a normal pressure plate. WHAT IS GOING ON????? D:
