With the update to 14w07a, my compass no longer pointed to my world spawn point but instead to a spot in the middle of a lake. I took a boat out to find the point and there appeared to be nothing there. This is about 50 blocks away from the original spawn point. I'm now running 14W08a and the compass still points to the middle of the lake.
