I'm having trouble connecting to minecraft servers.
I can play single player worlds fine, but if I try to load a server, I get the following error:
JAVA.NET.CONNECTEXCEPTION: CONNECTION TIMED OUT: NO FURTHER INFORMATION

Also, when I open the servers page (within the minecraft client), it just comes up as red and says it can't connect to server.

      Quick summary of what hapenned:
      1) I was playing minecraft fine at about 9:00am (MineZ on Shotbow Network). No problems.
      2) Stopped playing minecraft soon after to some work
      3) I come back a few hours later and I can't connect to any servers. When minecraft pings the servers (in the multiplayer menu), it says all my servers that I've saved are offline or unacessable.

No modifications to computer or minecraft were made (the computer was OFF)

It is not my internet; I got my netbook out and it can connect to all servers fine, albeit with incredible lag (its for school work, NOT gaming....)

      So, what I have tried:

First, I checked minecraft version. Still 1.7.2. Booted up a local server to check it, still no luck. I've also tried using 1.7.3, 1.7.4, 1.7.5 AND 1.6.4 to double check. None work. (Note: I did ensure my version matched the particular server I was trying to connect do. Verified each version/server with my netbook).

Then, I renamed my .minecraft folder, and downloaded a new launcher from minecraft.com/downloads. This way none of my old minecraft affected the install. Tried the gamed versions int head me manner above, no luck. Tried moving .minecraft to an external hard drive and deleting it completely from computer. New launcher, still no luck.

Next, I updated Java. Went through the proccess again, no luck.
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, no luck.
Tried uninstalling and using 32 bit java. No luck.

Checked my hosts file, all clear of line with mine craft.

Checked my firewall. Port 25565 is open on both TCP and UDP. Minecraft is also allowed. I tried deleting the rule and putting them in again. Didn't help.
Tried disabling firewall, still no luck.

Checked anti-virus; all clear. Uninstalled antivirus; still no luck.

My internet works fine; I'm typing this out on the computer that is having trouble, so it is DEFINITELY something to do with minecraft or Java or something similar, because browsers and every other game (Dota, ESO, etc.) work.
