Cake eaten is not detected by the scoreboard statistic. Here are the commands I used:

/scoreboard objectives add cake stat.useItem.minecraft.cake cake

/scoreboard objectives setdisplay sidebar cake

What should happen is the cake count should increase every time a cake is eaten.

What actually happens is nothing is detected.
