resource folder is missing in .minecraft folder

      when i load minecraft i can not hear anything, I've went and looked and the resource folder was empty. I went online to find a solution and none of them worked. EX: F3+S, Download resource folder, deleting .minecraft folder then re downloading, and others. I don't know what to do next.
