Bow costs seem disproportionately high to begin with, but if you rename your bow more than once, it causes it to increase exponentially.

In the attached screenshots, I first noticed it when I went to repair my bow in survival. When it said it was too expensive despite only having two enchantments, I switched to creative and noticed that each time I renamed it, the cost went up dramatically.
