The seed is -2575763764220154462.
I started in survival mode, peaceful, with cheats on. I spawned on an isolated island with grass and pumpkins but no trees or animals. Off the northwest corner of the island I saw another small sand hill island. There were no other land formations visible. I switched to creative mode so I could fly and thus move quicker to find other land with trees. I flew first to the sand hill island. I switched my chunk loading from 9 chunks to 12, and began flying west. (At this point I had some visual issues with the game flickering tiled land and underground features - but I have an older laptop and figure this has more to do with my video card than a bug in the game. I changed the chunk load distance from 12 to 10, and had no more issues.)
I eventually reached some additional islands with trees, but no animals. I flew back to the spawn island to be met by two cows and three rabbits (nothing unusual), and switched back from creative mode to survival. I swam across the ocean to the islands with the trees - to be met by not only sheep with no wool, but sheep with only one leg. Movement of the sheep was otherwise normal. I did not attempt to shear the sheep.
I exited out of the game to report the bug. I just opened the seed back up to see what would happen if I attempted to shear the sheep - and they were fine. They all had four legs, wool - and one is brown.
I have not attempted to restart this seed to see if it happens again. I haven't a clue whether this is a bug or related to my video graphics card.
