My son opened Minecraft after we had updated to Yosemite. It told us to update Java so we used the one suggested. After we installed it we kept getting a crash message from Minecraft

I am very new to all this so I would appreciate any help. He doesn't get too technical with Minecraft. He just uses it in creative mode so we are not too familiar with the programming side of Minecraft yet.
