When starting a new world or even continuing an old one, the internal server will simply lock up and become unresponsive. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game several times but end up with the same issue. I even tried playing on all 1.8 versions with the same results. I get no codes, or any kind of errors, it just locks up and becomes unresponsive even after letting the game settle for a good 15 minutes. Because of this, I can't do anything and the game becomes totally unplayable outside of creative and, even then, I can't do much since the world around me is frozen in place with 0 ticks going by.
