I've noticed in 1.9 when you enter a world the "Loading world" screen goes away to "early". In case of going to the nether you can see the nether without the purple portal effect for a split second, before it starts. You also see the world start to load from where you stand.

I went back to 1.8 and I did not have this bug in 1.8 or lower
