Minecraft launcher keeps crashing.

What I expected to happen was:
Well what should happen is the launcher takes a few seconds after you press "play" to load the actual game.

What actually happened was:
However, when I press the "play" button, the loading bar sometimes fills up to just the middle and stops, then crashing. And other times it just shows the three dots and crashes immediately. 

I have tried countless times to press again and play, but the same happens every time. I have also tried restarting the pc, restarting the launcher, reinstalling the launcher, nothing seems to work and it just keeps crashing.
