Minecraft launcher wont launch

      I go and i install minecraft and it looks like its downloading fine and i go to click on the icon and nothing happens. i go in to the folder and runt he launcher with admiistrator privilegs and it says that Java has stopped working. i have the lastest version of java and i am very confused
