This is likely an oversight but if users login with their Microsoft account their purchases need to be synced across to their linked Nintendo ID or the system reworked as the system often makes the Microsoft account creditionals expire frequently (aside from marketplace slowness). This means that should a user be unable to access the Internet for any reason they will be unable to access any of their connect until they are able to remoteconnect.

This means should a user be on holiday or have any other number of reasons for not having net access, that the game frequently prevents them from actually playing their purchased content due to the frequently expiring Microsoft account creditionals.
