      Steps to reproduce

      1. Build the setup shown in the picture.
      2. Stand in the source lava at the top left and throw a netherite item to the right so that it slides across the blue ice onto the source lava to the right.

      Expected result

The netherite item floats on top of the horizontal flowing lava and stays on top of the source lava to the right.

      Actual result

The netherite item falls through the horizontally flowing lava when sliding on the blue ice and then falls through the source lava to the right because there is downflowing lava underneath.

      Note:

The fact that the netherite item is pulled downward through source lava by the down-flowing current contradicts the fact that it is not pushed at all by horizontally flowing flowing lava (which is why blue ice is used in the test setup).

      Original description
When I threw my netherite into lava (because it’s satisfying to watch it float), it just sank to the bottom. I know it sank cause when I gave my self fire resistance I could see the netherite just sitting at the bottom. This would suck if you had full netherite armor and all netherite tool and died in lava.
