Summary:
The elevator build from the official Guide to Redstone (including the noted pocket edition change) doesn't work as expected - it frequently fails to even make it half way up the elevator shaft.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Create a Bedrock world either locally or in a realm
- Follow the Guide To Redstone Platform Elevator build instructions (page 66) (https://www.amazon.com/Minecraft-Guide-Redstone-Official-Mojang/dp/1405286008/ref=nodl_)
- Make sure to follow the "pocket edition" tip for placement
Observed results:
The paired slime block/observer mechanism fired erratically, so sometimes the platform is indeed elevated to the top, but more frequently it jumps up and down and ends up still at the bottom.
Expected results:
The elevator platform should pull itself up to the top without any downward movement.
Notes:
I can include additional details if there is any way to generate verbose logs or other diagnostic approaches.
(an updated/corrected Bedrock version of Guide to Redstone would be invaluable for families starting out with Minecraft Realms as a collaborative activity)
