Stuck on "Locating server" when logging in to a server

      When I try to log onto a multiplayer server (including other people's worlds) it freezes on the screen that says

       

      Generating world

      Locating server

       

      How to reproduce:

      1. When logging on any multiplayer server (including other people's worlds), disconnect or manually close Minecraft
      2. Open Minecraft
      3. Open the world/server you were joining and disconnected in
      4. It should be stuck on the "Locating server" screen and eventually send you to the home screen or crash.
