Eating food is healing excessive amounts - when you have half a node away from filled hunger and you eat something that would fill up a large amount of the bar, (porkchops for example) it prevents you needing to eat anything again (the hunger bar doesn't drain) for around an hour real-time, even if you sprint and take damage.
I'm not sure how this is supposed to function but it doesn't seem correct to me.
