I recently downloaded the new Minecraft Preview via the Xbox preview program. Everything started up fine and I was able to import my beta world. The preview did tell me it was unable to load the character I had selected and was showing the “Alex” skin instead. My character in Bedrock was loaded with several items from the marketplace I had unlocked. I remember reading that preview would be unable to access the marketplace at first so I wasn’t too worried. I opened up the character editor and confirmed some things were locked though curiously I could see marketplace content my Xbox just wasn’t downloading it. Anyways I left Preview and decided to head back to Beta and check out some things. When it opened up I immediately noticed my character skin was the Alex skin, who I don’t normally play as, and went to the dressing room intending to change my character. Only none of my characters were there! Or rather they were there but they had all reverted to th default Alex or Steve looks with all the customizations gone! The only thing I can attribute this to is Preview overwriting my old character profiles.

I went into one and didn’t change anything but it still twirled as if I had when I exited the character editor. I didn’t touch any of the others but none of them had everything my main profile did. Unfortunately I didn’t see any way to get it back.
