When setting the simulation distance to 4, the game can get tremendously laggy after leaving a tick area with a lot of commands.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Create A World With Full Simulation Distance
- Create A Ticking Area With Preload
- Place commands that load structures into the ticking area. Any size works, but preferably 10x10x10
Observed Results:
Game lags and crashes
Expected Results:
Game should run normally, with no performance issues.

In the video, I show myself running the world in 4 chunks, then 6.
Notes:
This only affects simulation distance 4. Nothing els. Render distance does not effect outcome. If needed I can send any additional files such as recource packs, and the world itself.
