Footstep sound playing at double speed after entering the nether, walking on netherrack, or sometimes randomly in the overworld.

80% of the time that I enter the nether I get double speed footstep sounds that persist until I restart the world. Sometimes all it takes is touching netherrack while in the overworld. Sometimes it happens without netherrack or the nether, in the overworld. Also sometimes when I enter the nether it doesn't happen. I get this bug pretty much every time I play minecraft. Sometimes I get the opposite of this bug, where footstep sounds just stop playing. This is really, really, common, and reproducible for me. So I don't know how this hasn't been reported/fixed yet. It's been happning since at least 1.18. Very annoying. And yes I did search and I didn't find it.

Update: It also seems like it can persist even after restarting the world multiple times; as if it's tied to the save file somehow, which doesn't make any sense.

What I mean by "double speed footstep sounds": If footstep sounds are supposed to be quarter notes, my footstep sounds are eighth notes.
