Xbox
When you play Minecraft , you disconnect your internet, quit game, continue playing, reconnect internet, and relaunch app, you will actually lose all the stuff in your inventory and all XP.
This can also happen when you play with internet and then go offline and do not reconnect; you will lose inventory and XP.
XP and inventory is gone permanently.
This is on a single player survival world hosted on the Xbox One X. Sometimes people join through LAN but when it occurred they were not joined by LAN.
This most likely has something to do with the cloud saves.
This occurred on Xbox One X on Minecraft 1.19.
Steps to reproduce:
- Make new world with internet
- Get some items and some XP
- Save and Quit game
- go offline
- re launch game
- re launch world(sometimes your inventory will be gone at this step)
- quit game
- go back online with internet
- reopen world and inventory and items will be gone
Observed results:
inventory and all XP gone at either steps 8 or 5.
Expected results:
Game launches normally at steps 5 and 8 with no inventory or XP loss.
how to prevent:
At step 6 after inventory loss occurs go in the xbox settings and delete the local saves. Then connect back to internet and make it get world data from the cloud saves.
Then no inventory loss will happen because it gets the save from cloud saves, which has a save from before the inventory loss.
Where the problem is:
At step 6 you lose inventory.
Then in step 8/9 xbox deletes cloud save with no inventory loss and instead uploads save with inventory loss.
Then your inventory is lost forever.
