Crossbows in minecraft have a (cocking) stirrup. But when reloding, the player, pillager or piglin doesn't use the stirrup. Instead, the player/pillager/piglin reloads with his hands. normally if you have a larger crossbow, you must use the stirrup because you need to use a lot of power to pull the string. So the stirrup is useless in minecraft, or there should be new reload animations. my conclusion is: the reload animations aren't correct.
