I can use chat by typing a slash to open chat with a slash, which is used for quickly typing a command in chat. Then I remove the slash and type things in chat like normal. However, when I do manage to type in chat, the game usually freezes for up to a minute. If the game doesn’t freeze or if I already waited until my game is done freezing, I have to wait until I can move my character again. After that, if I used any keys on my keyboard while waiting to be able to move again, the keys I pressed will make my player move for a certain amount of time (almost like I’m holding them down) and I have to press that key again to make my player stop moving.

      How to reproduce:

      1. You open chat with slash.
      2. You delete the slash.
      3. You type "something" in chat.
      4. You notice the spinning wheel below the mouse.
      5. You notice your game is frozen.
      6. You wait until game is unfrozen.
      7. You close chat
      8. You notice you can move your head around, but cannot move in 3D space.
      9. You wait until game is unfrozen
      10. You notice your character is moving in one direction.
      11. You hit your movement keys.
      12. You play Minecraft now.

      Useful things?:

      • I play Minecraft with a controller, but chat with my keyboard.
      • Opening chat with my controller does work, but I cannot type anything into the text box unless I open the chat with a slash.
